The drive is about thirty minutes. That is short enough that the decision is not really about distance — it is about what time you land, how many of you there are, and whether you want a car sitting outside for the rest of the week.
Four ways to make the same journey
No prices here on purpose — they move with the season, the car category and how far ahead you book, and a guide with last year's numbers in it is worse than one with none. What does not change is which option suits which arrival.

The line that actually decides it: a week's car hire costs about the same as two transfers. One trip each way, take the transfer. Anything beyond a couple of days out, the car wins — and it keeps winning every day after that.

Check the closing time of your rental desk against your landing time, not your scheduled time.
What to check before you book
- Flight tracking. If your flight is late, does the driver wait? Put your flight number on the booking either way.
- Meet and greet. Someone inside arrivals with a sign, or a phone number and a car park to find?
- Child seats. Legally required, frequently forgotten. Request at booking, not on arrival.
- Fixed price. Confirmed in your own currency before you travel, not calculated at the end.
- Luggage and passengers. Four adults with cases do not fit a standard saloon. Book the size you need.
- Return leg. Booking both ways at once is usually cheaper and saves arranging it on holiday.

It is the cheapest way and it genuinely works, but it is not a single ride. From the airport you get to Ortaca first, then change for Dalyan.
With hand luggage, in daylight, on a budget, it is fine and mildly enjoyable. With two suitcases, a pushchair and a midnight landing, it is not.
Common questions
How long is the drive?
By car it is about 30 minutes. By public transport, allow two to three times that once you have waited at Ortaca.
What if my flight is delayed?
Add your flight number to the booking — most transfer companies track it and adjust the pickup.
Are child seats provided?
Only if you request them when booking. Do not assume.
Is a transfer cheaper than hiring a car?
